Pre-Flood Civilization - Messianic Literary Corner

Modern archaeologists acknowledge that many ancient megalithic structures defy explanation of how they were created and moved to their current locations from where their stones were quarried. Some theories delve into their creators extraterrestrial origin, although these theories overlook the Biblical explanation provided in Genesis.  This article will attempt to establish some plausible connections between their origins and the Bible. Given the controversial nature of this article I will try to establish certain logical conclusions without straying from my original intent.

It is my intent to intelligently discuss the possibility of an advanced civilization existing at the time of Noah's Flood and shortly thereafter. Today there still exists Megalithic stone structures throughout the world whose sheer weight boggles the mind on how they were quarried and moved to their present locations.  There also exists examples of stone masonry whose massive stones were seamlessly fit together.  Some have theorized that these massive stone blocks weighing over one thousand tons were moved by some sort of levitation that defies all known physical laws.  Others have theorized that the examples of seamless polygonal stone masonry of huge stones were the results of tools which melts stone like a hot knife cuts butter.  In both cases the known laws of physics are presumably challenged.

Since modern engineers and archaeologists are baffled by the existence of these megaliths, one needs to look to ancient sources to discover how or why they were created.   The Book of Genesis sheds much light on their mysterious existence by discussing who the creators of these megaliths were.   Given that modern archaeologists mostly  dismiss the possibility of non-human intelligent interaction with ancient humanity, we must look to the Bible to determine the truth.

Genesis 6:12 states "And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth."  Some theologians are in disagreement regarding the way mankind's  flesh was corrupted (v.12). The word "flesh" is the biblical term for  the characteristics passed on through generations. Today we know this as  their "genetic composition". Genesis 6:1-2 though offers a good  explanation why all flesh had been corrupted.  V.1-2 states "When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the  sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they  took as their wives any they chose."   Some theologians seem to think  that the "sons of God" were humans from the line of Seth, although they have no valid reason to think so,  since the sons of Seth were from Adam and their flesh had not been corrupted.   

Most theologians agree that the "sons of God" were fallen angels taken physical form.  An excellent article written by William F. Cook of the Gospel Coalition refers to numerous Scriptural passages that confirms the "Sons of God" from Genesis 6 refers to fallen angels that manifested physical form to bed with human females.  https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/who-are-sons-of-god-genesis-6/  Both these "sons of God" and their hybrids of non-human derivation were termed  "Nephilim" or "fallen ones". V. 4 states: The Nephilim (Hebrew =  tyrants or giants)  were on the earth in those days, and also afterwards,  when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore  children to them.  These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of  renown."   So Scripture notes that the Nephilim were endowed with special abilities and became leaders of humanity.  It also states the Nephilim were "on the earth in those days, and afterwards", signifying Nephilim  presence after the deluge. Their presence after the Flood may  be due to Noah's son's wives having this "non-human" genetic  corruption,  although they may not have known so. Another explanation was the "sons of God" returned to earth after the deluge to bear hybrid children to the "daughters of men".

If you are looking for a "smoking gun" Genesis 6 certainly provides the plausible explanation that certain megalithic structures existing today were created by Nephalim.   These mysterious structures exist globally, with some stones  weighing from 100 to 1000 tons in weight with precise construction that exceeds any modern or presumably ancient capabilities. These megalithic structures may have been constructed before the flood but no  one is certain.  It appears to be a distinct possibility that such a culture and its advanced engineering abilities unknown to modern man existed globally in Pre-Flood and early Post-Flood civilizations.  

1. A Roman temple in Baalbek, Lebanon was constructed on top of a foundation of stone slabs each weighing up to 1000 tons, although there was no known engineering technology known from antiquity that could accomplish both the stones quarrying or their relocation from the quarry to the temple base.  There's also a prominent stone slab unmoved from the quarry called the "Stone of the Pregnant Worman" weighting approximately 1000 tons.  Their creation still remains a mystery.

2. Macchu-Piccu, Peru "Temple of the Three Windows".   The construction of the foundation of Macchu-Piccu's temple employs multi-ton polygonal stone masonry, seamlessly uniting stones of irregular shape.  Such constructions was not duplicated by the Incan civilization which unsuccessfully attempted to copy the masonry technique but with much smaller stones.  https://www.theancientconnection.com/megaliths/peru/macchu-picchu-megalithic-enigma/

4. Vitrification and melting of stones in ancient pre-Incan Peru.   Ancient builders possessed some yet unknown means by which they were able to soften, melt and in some cases  vitrify enormous masses of rock, making it extremely easy to carve stone as hard  as granite and andesite in any kind of desired shapes and angles.  https://unchartedruins.blogspot.com/2014/09/the-vitrified-ruins-of-ancient-peru.html

Megalithic structures have also been discovered submerged globally.  One may speculate that these structures are evidence of a Pre-Flood civilization although it is nearly impossible to determine their true age. As the megalithic structures found terrestrially mentioned in this article pose significant questions regarding their creation and creators, so do the megalithic structures found submerged throughout the world.  One can deduce a commonality in certain submerged megaliths with those found terrestrially.  The obvious commonality is their immense size.  What type of engineering could accomplish the quarrying of these massive stones?  The articles linked below will attempt to address the topic.

I have purposely avoided speculating in the highly controversial "Nephalim alien" theory.  That subject is a "rabbit hole" that would only stray from Biblical understanding.  It's a mystery that will one day be revealed to humanity, but in avoiding the topic I think I have successfully stayed within the limited scope of this study.  I hope this article will broaden your perspective on who created these megaliths and how with the inclusion of a "Biblical Historical Narrative" one can approach this topic with reasoning and clarity.
