The Messianic Literary
Corner has expanded it's studies into "basic Messianic prophecies". True
biblical prophecy can be defined as: "an explanation of how God has dealt with humanity in the past,
and is dealing with humanity in the present and future".
Without having such a "biblical-historical
perspective" we would simply be lost with
uncertainty. Such studies are very helpful in cementing
the loving bond between Christian and Jew, by revealing
the Lord's purpose for Israel, the Church and the nations.
Please return often for more studies.
The purpose of the
first study entitled "The Prophetic Promises Given to Israel"
is to better understand the many prophecies given to the nation of
Israel concerning the return or reign of the Messiah in the "Latter
Days". The term "Latter Days" is used in both New and Old Covenant
scriptures describing the events surrounding the coming of the Messiah
and the age following His coming.
The second study entitled "A Messianic
Prophecy Study of the Book of Isaiah"
was originally designed as a survey of all the Messianic prophecies in
the Book of Isaiah in 1989. The study was taught in five or six
segments. It was adapted for this website with the intent of providing believers
hours of intense, but enjoyable reading.
The third study on "The Messianic
Prophecies of Zechariah" gives us a
prophetic perspective "above history and time", peering into Israel's
immediate and far distant future. Zechariah's prophetic writings focus
primarily upon the restoration of the second temple in Jerusalem after
the 70 year Babylonian captivity, but also foretells the coming of the
Messiah to suffer and later reign as King over all the earth. This
compelling study is for anyone interested in the purposes of the God of
Israel in past, present and future times.
